The amplifier, motor, and feedback sensors can be proportional or set to operate in the on/off mode. If they operate in the on/off mode, the amplifier and motor will be energized to full speed and remain at full speed until they reach the programmed point. Then they are de-energized and stop at that position. The sensor only needs to indicate position because the speed (velocity) is not monitored since the amplifier and motor are energized to full speed. Only a few low-cost robots utilize this method of control.
