For design engineers who deal with high-speed signals and the problems caused in them by electromagnetic effects (which increase as as circuit speeds increase). The author provides examples from designs with power delivery, electromagnetic compatability, signal integrity, and high-speed probing. The book is written in an approachable fashion, to ensure that readers understand the mathematics behind the problems. The goal is to enable engineers to create and comprehend high-speed circuits that are not only backwards compatible but forward compatible as well. * The need for ever-faster circuits is driving a huge industry demand for the information included in this title * Gives readers the solid foundation in applied electromagnetics needed to design stable high-speed circuits * An entire chapter is dedicated to the increasingly important issue of power consumption and delivery

Author received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla and joined Intel upon receiving his degree in 1997. He currently is an analog/digital scientist at Intel specializing in high frequency circuit modeling and extraction tools, EMI noise reduction techniques, and signal integrity issues. He holds two U.S. patents for EMI reduction technologies. He is an active participant in IEEE conferences on EMI and signal integrity topics.
