General EMC backgroud and principles -- If you can only afford 1 book on EMC make it this one. It covers the general field very well and deserves its' standing as the definitive text on EMC. It does not cover some aspects of design as well as specialist texts but gives enough of a background to get a reader moving in the right direction. If you are new to EMC or want a background to what all the fuss is about, this is the best starting point you can have.

Contents
Preface; Introduction; Standards; Emissions measurements; Immunity tests; Interference coupling mechanisms; Layout and grounding; Digital and analogue circuit design; Interfaces, filtering and shielding; EMC management; design checklist; CAD for EMC; Useful tables and formulae; The EU and EEA countries; Glossary; Bibliography; Index

Reviews:

Essential reading for those designing electronic products for the European market.' New Electronics 'The title could equally well have been 'EMC Handbook' since the book contains a wealth of reference material on the directive, the standards, measurements and the methods which can, and should, be used to achieve compliance.' IEE Review 'Tim Williams clearly draws heavily on his experience gained as a consultant, specialising in design and training, which is reflected in the quality and clarity of this work.' International Journal of Electrical Engineering Education 'Covers basic EMC theory and practice in a very readable form.' Test and Measurement Europe Tim Williams' books provides all the key information needed to meet the requirements of the EMC Directive. -ElectronicsWeb As well as covering the very latest legal requirements, the third edition has been thoroughly updated in the line with the latest best practice in EMC compliance and product design.
