The SSRs provide a means of taking a small logic signal and controlling a larger output. The SSRs are also small enough and fast enough to provide some of the same functions as the IC logic gates or full-size relay logic. They also provide an extremely large isolation factor between the input and output and don't cause contact bounce or contact arcing like a relay, which may also add noise to the signal. SSRs are very resilient and can hold up in conditions of vibration. When compared to the logic IC and the relay, the SSR has an equally long life, since it can withstand millions of operations.
