Polar Plot - Wide Lobes

  • Emissions are coming from the sides of the product.
  • Single- or double-lobed plot is typical behavior at the lower frequencies (<300 MHz).
  • Probably caused by cable radiation.
  • Polar plot at 216 MHz. Shape of plot indicates a half-wave dipole antenna pattern.

Commonly-found Polar Plot at Higher Frequencies – Narrow Lobes

  • Emissions radiated from all around product.
  • Commonly-found behavior at the higher frequencies (>300 MHz).
  • Likely cause: slot radiation.
