PREFACE

The use of semiconductor devices in circuits is growing at a rapid rate. Solid-state power supplies to power these new circuits are also being developed. Unlike the large vacuum-tube power-supply circuits, solid-state circuits are small and compact; this in itself lends to the versatility of the solid-state power supply and converter.

This guide is a collection of solid-state power-supply circuits. It is impossible to include all of the existing circuits in one volume. A se lection of typical circuits of each of the five different categories has been included, with schematic diagrams, parts values, and all necessary data to construct the circuits. In one reference source this guide provides material that would otherwise have to be obtained from the various manufacturers.
